Clitheroe Travel recently completed a 3 month project to improve and modernise its internal IT system which is hoped will revolutionise the way the company operates.
The new system installed by HIT computing allows workers at the company to access the system remotely, provides customers with 3 dimensional tours of their holiday destinations and increased storage space on the system means a faster and more efficent turn around of allwork. Owner, Nigel Pratt says: “In a generation of anytime, any place anywhere, the travel industry needs to keep up and give all customres what they want in the time-starved, mobile world we live in.”
The remote working access has already paid dividends for the company. Already staff are tapping into the remote access network saving time and energy doing it in the office. Nigel adds “ this isn’t about making people do more hours, this is more about making things easier for staff and doing our bit towards cutting down on carbon emissions by reducing the need to travel.”
As well as making things more dynamic the company has also had to ensure the system is secure. Rossendale based HIT Computing has taken the security to a higher level by deploying anti-virus and anti-spyware software, allowing the travel agents the comfort of knowing their system is safe.
